I thought the last episode was pretty hamfisted at times but some of the stuff just straight up worked on me. Definitely got a little misty at the end in the museum.

It wasn’t very well executed, but between Sam’s final speech and the “lives matter” convo b/t John and the FlagSmasher leader - who was right next to an NYPD logo to really hammer that angle - it was kinda the most progressive 10 minutes of “mainstream” tv I’ve ever seen.

Oh, and, to fade out on the image of a statue of a black serviceman, as we argue about taking down statues of slave owners, was huge. Can’t believe Disney went these places to be honest. Glad, but, surprised.

I never thought I would see a uniform on a Marvel character that is more embarrassing than the ones seen on characters in The Boys but that Falcon America head piece? Boy, I dunno.

Te constant about the two marvel shows until now for me is that both endings made me like the entire show much less.

Nice. Sorry if you already covered- F&WS is marked by having been hurriedly reshot recut rewritten to salvage a ~COVID storyline, which altered Flagsmasher backstory, motivations, actions and aims. The resulting work can be critiqued, but it’s a crash victim.

The very first thing i read on the delay was "It didn’t change anything, it really just helped us focus, I guess."

Other than somethings gestured at in Sam's speech, I really dislike this finale. I wish the MCU wasn't afraid of just doing weirdo bank robbers, but they don't want to be made fun of for being kind of corny, or going all in with their themes. 100% on the Spider-Man point.

The MCU is going through some serious growing pains adapting to TV. Feige is a film guy after all, so it's the first time he's really moving to a medium outside his comfort zone
-
I think hes a smart guy, a guy who REALLY understands affectation of character on audience, and how to smooth edges - but i dont know if what the MCU does even counts as film OR tv - its honestly just turning into comics’ highs and lows.
