You know, I've been waiting for her to show back up. This particular Dora milaje. Sadly, I don't know her name...

re: the karli bombing. the shoe never really establishes they're innocents, does it? that's a big issue i'm having with the karli bad narrative because we just know it was a GRC building but who died? what are the GRC doing? do they have soldiers enforcing deadly policies?

Does it have to?

The thing I liked about this episode was that it kept calling the right people out. The Avengers with Zemo, Bird Guy and Summer James with the Wakandans, and then it's, for me, shown through the bloody shield. Karli they're totally gonna make the ultimate baddy.

While it's nice that the show is seemingly willing to stick its neck out to refer to big important topics that are relevant right now — rampant inequality, authoritarian brutality, imperialism, etc. — it never feels like it has something to SAY besides "damn, that sucks huh"
-
That said, there's still room for the writing to come around on this, but it's still weirdly noodling on these topics (especially as you point out regarding character motivations). I kinda know what Zemo and Walker want, but everyone else is ??

I feel like the conversation at Marvel went like this -"What's great about this show is it finally gives us the chance to talk about what we believe" -"Cool, so Kevin?" -"Yeah?" -"What do we believe?" -"Well, uh, I can think of some things we're against. Is that the same thing?"

It almost feels like Marvel stumbled into the whole Blip concept, like they accidentally came up with this really interesting and dramatic and unique sci-fi concept and they were like “crap we just wanted to make fun crowd pleasing superhero movies!?!”
-
Yeah, and the problem is all the answers, like most of their conflicts - are something they're only half-interested in exploring.
