Remember that one commercial for... insurance? I forget (great ad work), but it's the end where she's about to toss it and then stops herself and then they cut to her walking out of the office with a stack of cash. THAT was a better ending.

Truly a masterpiece of Titanic proportions. It’s good that it can only be viewed separately from the film; the film is not good enough to share a single film canister with this triumph.

holy god. the disconnect of this insane ending from a good movie is blowing my mind. how do you make titanic and then this ending??

The answer is you don't! I think sometimes you have an idea of how something works in your head and then you see it IRL and are like this doesn't work, cut it! Which he did. I'm sure there's a lot of other bad choices on the cutting room floor too.
