And to be clear, I fully acknowledge I may have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm just reflecting experiences and also the frustrating experiences from other designers that have been conveyed to me. There's a chance these could all be intensely different experiences.

Fwiw, Netflix has written extensively about how we conducted tests (see e.g. https://link.medium.com/E8XczWJM0eb ). I think I might have written about it myself. Clearly, we were not optimizing "time on site" to your point
