I also like keeping my devices as analog, separate, and unobtrusive as possible, otherwise it just becomes this massive pain in the ass of constant maintenance between them rather than just using them how I want to use them.

Anyway, I finally got a new phone today and because of a bunch of dumb details, it wouldn't transfer data from old phone and ive had all these problems and now literally half my other shit isn't working and i had a nervous breakdown and i wish i was kidding!

Basically I envy people who have tremendous ease with this stuff / don't care - it's like they thrive on the constant adaptation and disruption of it all and i'm just... the opposite.

I hear you. Lightning fried our internet gateway 2 weeks ago. We were able to function via cell hotspot for the 3 days it took to replace it, and while I’d like to say it was stress of being house IT guy that nearly did me in, but it was really just the departure from “normal”.
