My only real complaint, though it’s a pretty substantial one, is that it felt like it...well, caved, to being a superhero punching contest for 20 minutes at the expense of clearly communicating important emotionality.

They hid story for 8 episodes and then once they "unmystery boxed" the core conceit of the show all had up their sleeve was, "well, time to punch now!"

Hex is a coping mechanism, and the story is Wanda’s struggle to maintain the fantasy as others, and her own subconscious, try to impose reality on her. Really not sure what you mean by hiding story.

The fact we're talking about the same exact thing show the problem of how muddy the execution was. They were literally teasing the entire construction while acting like it was a secret and the big "previously on" just literally confirms everything we know. But im writing.
