I really, really don't understand why you're tripling down on this. Of course it's a swipe. And, like, of course it's not insinuating that it's the first! The very assumption that I would think it's first joke of this type is twice as wild as me explaining it. And if you've seen
those kinds of jokes before, then how come you bulldozed over it and responded as if it was bing literal? I'm trying to parse this because like, there's a WHOLE conversation to have about what jokes are actually productive. But this feels like an "up is down" conversation.
Alright here's the confusion. Y'all think my initial comment was directed at the joke but it was purely a reaction to seeing the negative "cost" as opposed to a positive framing like "tax revenue". Scott clearly made a joke, I was critiquing the media, tangential to the joke.
