Folks, this wasn't solicitation of advice on how to cut 15 extra bucks and make that number lower - it's to note that once these services were the dominant form of media delivery they started price jacking, because of course they did. It was always the plan. Also I miss sports.

it's lower if you don't subscribe to everything. You can choose the content you want & without long-term commitment. if you DO sub to everything, you are getting FAR more content (& more premium content), on-demand across any device, than you ever got from cable
-
Yeah but the complaints we all had with cable were that 1. we had to subscribe to the whole thing to get one show or channel we wanted and 2. that it was therefore way overpriced Both are still true and might be even truer now

I knew it would happen. I work for a provider. I kept telling my customers that the costs will keep going up with the direct streaming options, I saw this coming back when starz left packages. It was not a sales tactic, I'm just really good at market predictions for media.

It would be nice if there was package deals for streaming apps included with an internet bundle - like you can choose 2 or 3 that would be free or discounted.

So cable but in internet.

Well for a low 7.99 trial fee of two weeks you can get VIEWBU, which has every other episode of ABC’s classic TGIF lineup, plus the movie Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
