Before this episode I thought it was a simulation they were both trapped in but with this and the elephant in the room of Vision actually being dead it's clear that it's her construct. Her world based on the sitcom ideals of American culture she'd have childhood tv memories of.

And my entire point is that this is a complete projection on part of the audience and yet it is ALSO the core motivation of the show. I think this is lazy hiding. And it renders everything important into head canon guess work.

What projecting by the audience do you mean? Like mine here regarding what might be happening? If (big IF) it's her construct the world is built from her hazy childhood memories of assorted American TV sitcoms shown in a foreign country. She wouldn't need a perfect copy of (1/2)

This is literally the entire point of my piece. The story is so vague it can only 1) invite endless speculation. 2) you apply it 3) because the audience application is so unspecific and forgiving, EVERYTHING is possible text. You can literally say anything right now.

And that anything would justify literally any choice being made in the show. It's not actually doing anything on it's own. And I see more and more shows doing this and it's just like... is this how we're going to tell stories now?
