The other day I was watching something on Netflix with captions. At one point, a character spoke Spanish and the show had hardcoded subtitles for her dialogue.

Don't you love it when they put a caption reading "[SPEAKING SPANISH]" right over the native-to-video subtitle translating it into English?

On YouTube I can hit up on the remote to make it go away...the others don’t have a solution. It really sucks

I’ve never had any that forced that, have never even had a VCR with forced onscreen displays.
