I’d recommend Gurren Lagann (27 episode TV anime available on Netflix). It was made by the same creative team behind Promare. It has all the style of Promare, but much better character writing and narrative (imo)

If you're up for tackling a slightly longer show, I cannot recommend March Comes in Like a Lion highly enough. A story about a teenager struggling with depression, it's possibly the most human, empathetic story I've ever seen. You would love it for sure.

Interesting take. I honestly felt like Promare was about racism especially with the police being literally ICE. That was what I thought anyways. Promare is basically the ultimate Super Rogot anime which I personally consider it’s own thing outside of Shonen anime.

Shōnen and Super Robot share a lot of overlap honestly but the themes and visuals are strikingly different. That’s just my own takes on it. I’d be glad to give a more through explanation on Real Robot vs Super Robot and the like if interested.
