netflix (and probably other steaming services) making you actively go out of your way to watch credits instead of autoplaying something else, I think

The autoplay just annoys me to no end. If yo'ure on the TV, you have to bail out entirely to another app because even if you stop it from autoplaying the credits, it will the autoplay the trailer. JUST SHUT UP FOR A MINUTE, I WANT TO TALK TO MY WIFE ABOUT THE THING WE WATCHED!

*autoplaying over the credits

there is a button if you want to watch the credits. I don't get the outrage over this. More than 90% of viewers are very happy to skip the credits, especially for a series.
-
It’s not rocket science. Sometimes i wanna just sit with a movie for a few minutes as the credits roll, and scrambling to grab the remote before some loud-ass trailer for some baking show starts blaring kinda kills the mood.

That must be immensely frustrating to production staff. Especially to those of the sort who might wait back when the credits start to see which colleagues they recognise

The unfortunate thing is, it think this probably got AB tested to death, as in "how quickly do we have to auto play the next episode to keep as many people as possible binging longer".
-
I wonder if the way out of this would be for unions to force studios to sign distribution contracts that included provisions for credit show times.
