And to be clear, it worked. The second you achieve the kind of singular definitive branding of something like "netflix and chill," you've won. Even if the pie is starting to get split now, they won the paradigm shift.

This is why I refused to get Disney+. I could see this coming years ago: the atomization of content to several dozen providers, exclusives held hostage (Picard, etc.) on singular platforms, the slow and inevitable transfer of the cable model to the internet.

It happened differently to YouTube re: advertising. I remember years ago when YouTube had maybe one ad before the video, and a single ad on the page. Now it's basically like watching regular TV - multiple disruptive ads clogging everything. Thank god for adblock.
