Is it a Bluetooth thing? Can’t you just turn off Bluetooth?

You’ll need to google your specific car model and “auto play from connected device” to figure out how to turn it off. It’s probably buried somewhere deep in your car radio menu (it was for my car).

what car do you have? many cars have a setting that lets you disable this.

It's older so I just have an old dumb bluetooth adapter that can only sense incoming signals.

I can never listen to Hall and Oates “Adult Education” again for this very reason. It played every time I got in my car. I can’t remember how I stopped it except that I started anticipating it
-
Actually, I think I fixed it when I deleted the Apple music app (I was mostly using Spotify anyway). That’s how much “Adult Education” was tormenting me.
