Nothing quite sums up the lack of culinary interest of most Boston Irish Catholics quite like "Boiled Dinner." I've had a few decent riffs, but good granola is there nothing worse than a bland one.https://twitter.com/notreallyjcm/status/1306044127059025921 …

Moved to Florida and ordered a regular coffee and was surprised when I was served black coffee. Nothing regular about that!

I had no idea about the NE’s DD fixation until I visited Boston for a month. I had 3 different DDs within a five minute walk from my hotel.

I swear it comes from the coffee milk tradition. I never was a fan, but then again I don't really have a sweet tooth. Straight espresso for this guy.

Dunkin is making its way here to the Midwest where it used to be hard to find them. Didn’t know about the whole “coffee milk” thing.

Take coffee syrup. Add a ton of milk. That's it. That's coffee milk. Historically-speaking, hugely popular in NE (particularly rhode island) and tends to define why the area likes it's coffee super milky and sweet, hence, the dunkin donuts model which is just that.
