Should I wait until watching before reading?

Most certainly.

Wait, "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" is Kaufman? I shall have to give it a look after all. The look and the title seemed like some sort of YA adaptation, which... does not appeal to me.

I love that your read of this movie’s events are nothing like mine, yet it still ends up in the same brutal fatalism. I saw Jake as alone his whole life and this girlfriend was a bad lie, full of inconsistent holes, not mixed-up memories of dead romances.

Do you think there's some shared ground between Kaufman and Yorgos Lanthimos? This part of your essay made me think of THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER in particular, but I think it's also true of THE LOBSTER and ALPS.pic.twitter.com/x8gJxJyncC

(I think THE FAVOURITE and DOGTOOTH, weird as they are, are more linear and move faster than the others.)
