Okay, is it me or is the difficulty spike in AC: Odyssey downright obtuse? I like it for a lot of choices by why can every single soldier suddenly got a pair of eagle eyes and can spot me in a damn second?

thank you so much for this thread I thought there was something wrong with me for not being able to get into it.

I think they were trying to do a Shadows of Mordor thing with it but in Shadows of Mordor I somehow always feel more effective than I do in Odyssey.

I had a blast with it. But I hate From Software gameplay so I bet that's the big difference here. You're missing out on some fun stuff though!

I totally get people not liking FromSoft, but I genuinely don't understand how people can embrace broken combat systems. Like, I just don't get it?

Give it up and move on to the brilliance that is Ghost of Tsushima. It does Assassin’s Creed better than Assassin’s Creed

Odyssey is the pinnacle of AC. Phenomenal game

I think the difficulty of the combat system makes a lot more sense when you realise that it’s supposed to frustrate you into buying level up microtransactions and spend your way through the difficulty curve. This isn’t a failure of design. The design is Working As Intended

Yesss precisely! Always fun to see two different modes of virtual currency in one game...just glorious stuff.
