I always go back and play the Assassins Creed entries a few years later (and always on sale). As I (try) to finish the stupid game, there are so many backwards "let's break what's fixed" decisions in Origins that I... I just.

I liked Origins, i saw it as a soft reboot to series which i think it was meant to be. I kinda wish they just Dumped the modern day people. Odyssey is good fun.

You won’t find respite from drawn-out endings in a Hideo Kojima game...

I take it you've given up on Nier Automata at this point? (I'm not saying that's in any way a problem/bad thing! Free time feels more fleeting and precious with each passing day...)

I hope not, Automata is one of the greatest games ever made, imo. It also affected me emotionally more than pretty much any game I've ever played.

Odyssey is probably worse in the endings regard. It got three different endings, one for the main story, one for a side quest that becomes the main quest the story really is about (hard to explain that one), and one ending when you kill all the cult leaders. That's 96 hours!

I do love that game, but I haven't seen that much work for a real ending in a non-Persona (haven't played any of them) game since Arkham Knight.
