The Spirit of Competition: I mostly like that they burned through a lot of the will they / won't they dynamics pretty quick to just get to the point but compared to Avatar, these character dynamics BURN FAST. Like, the, stories are moving THE OC level fast... it feels odd.

And The Winner Is... : WOW. First great episode. Great consequences. Didn't realize how much I was itching for a straight epic fight, too. Lin + Korra worked like gang busters. Feels like everything is sort of crystalizing. HERE FOR IT.

The Aftermath: Another rapid-paced, dynamic-shifting episode, but I do like really where it all ends and what's it's ultimately about. Felt like time to dig deeper with Day 2 post on these last four episodes! Enjoy! And thank you endlessly for support <3https://www.patreon.com/posts/37643960

It feels stupid writing about TV right now, but if you are looking for a rage break - here are thoughts on next 3 eps: When Extremes Meet, Out of the Past, and Turning The Tides - which just so summarize the whole range of how I feel about this show.https://www.patreon.com/posts/37795627

Finally came back to finish recaps for THE LEGEND OF KORRA - SEASON ONE - which came with a big realization of WHY this season wasn't working as well as Avatar. Enjoy <3https://www.patreon.com/posts/39778643

Got four episodes into season two and... oof this show has "dramatic parameter problems" ever set-up for conflict is so wishy-washy, convoluted, and yet haphazardly forced / easy to see through. It makes CARING so hard.

Part of Korras problem is they got renewed season at time so still wanted to tell full stories but couldn’t go bigger in scope. Though there’s bits I love about Korra- the dynamic bending, Korra herself, tenzin, Lin, and season 3. And when it deals with Aangs legacy.

I don't know. I feel like the scope of most Korra seasons is pretty big. Just because they're not telling a huge, overarching save-the-world story with the show doesn't mean stuff like the Equalist storyline doesn't have major stakes. It's the execution that is the problem.

I guess I mean the emotional scope and ability to tell a bigger story over a longer period. I guess for me it’s that having more episodes the scope of the war sets in, while with less they have more trouble developing new characters progressing the conflict and identifying it.

I keep mentioning in this thread but can we please stop talking about future seasons. This is the danger of trying to go episode by episode and talking about it on the internet, I know.
