I hated that shit with the Tomb Raider reboots. I hated it. A friend called it 'atrocity fatigue.' I don't want to see that. I don't want to think of it as "one of the ways the story could end." That's bad, and it's an attack on the player, and I hate it.

In the case of Tomb Raider, it definitely made me irrationally angry at enemies-- also, swimming.

Think of it like Tom cruise in edge of tomorrow. Having it just finished last of us 1 for the third or fourth time it’s easy to see this as continuation but I’m still getting used to mechanics. Even so you usually die Within a minute of fight so just “Edge of tomorrow”
