Not to deny your intention, I just feel like it's really still more like Do The Right Thing? I just feel like the H.G. abstraction glorifies the idea the state is hard on white people when it's really not? Not that you need to be told this. Of course you know, you know?

Just watched it for the first time (shameful, I know) last night and was terrified by how accurate it still is in the present day. Shit really ain't changed.

I rewatch the movie every few years, and every time I’m convinced that THIS time it’s even more relevant. Get used to the feeling.

Best metaphor for this particular moment- HBOs Watchmen. What makes it so brilliant is it is a examination of the racial anxiety that shapes the country’s mood today the same way the book was dealt with the nuclear anxiety that existed in 1985.

Z. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z_(1969_film) …. Not American, and not specifically about police in our communities. But I’m being reminded of this movie more and more every day.
