Really wild coincidence that the hierarchy of spoken accents, what’s considered intelligent, attractive, personally or professionally desirable, is divided along lines like colonizer-colonized, global west-global south, white-nonwhite, and so forth. Probably nothing to it, though

"Uptalk" for example, is considered unprofessional and sometimes unintelligent. It is also more strongly associated with women than with men. There are more examples, but I forgot where I put the link to that paper.

Same goes for "vocal fry" or when women are considered to have a "screeching" voice (they don't).
