I'm finally playing Sekiro and... FROM SOFTWARE games are just... they make me so insanely happy. I don't know how to describe it, because it's a combination of different feelings...

It's one of the only games I actually threw a controller while playing - when I got to the bull. (This is after Bloodborne, Dark Souls II, etc). Then I guess they nerfed it a little bit in an update, but beware. It's a brilliant game but oof the curve can make you want scream

And the whole grappling hook mechanic is up there with Spiderman in terms of a satisfying flowy movement.

I've gone back to DS3 with friends and after Sekiro and Bloodborne (again) I'm having a lot of trouble adjusting to the slower pace of combat, somewhat ironically.

For people who started off with Dark Souls--or have revisited since then--I like to, reductively, frame Bloodborne as Fromsoft's Dodge Tutorial. With that, Sekiro is the Parry Tutorial. They take optional*** mechanics and build an entire game around them.

If it's intimidating I can say pretty confidently that if you could handle Bloodborne you will absolutely hit a point in Sekiro where the combat just Clicks(TM) and it will blow you away.
