So! I made a dumb tweet about the yellow lightsaber last week! The truth is that it ended up being a wonderful launching off point to discuss semiotics, interpretation, and the different ways we consume art :D Thank you so much for your support <3https://www.patreon.com/posts/36291441

It's interesting that the examples you use to support the meaning of Thor's hammer aren't actually in Endgame. They're in previous MCU movies. So I think there's room for discussion of what is/isn't in or out of text, especially with these sprawling properties.

To be honest, I actually agree with you! It actually gets at my problem of the MCU being such a sprawling text. But I chose that one because it's just an insanely popular and clear example, thus most of the readers would be familiar if that makes sense?

To that very point, the lifting of the hammer is actually a set-up for the payoff vision being able to wield it in that film. I would have loved better re-set-up in Endgame, but still. The set-up is there in the series.

Sure, all I'm saying is that the "text" then becomes the series. What is the text of TROS? The movie itself? The 9 trilogy movies? The extended universe? I'm not trying to criticize, just suggest a new way of looking at it. I think concepts of what is "text" have changed.
