Along the lines of your (brilliantly instructive) Onward analysis, are there other questions you ask yourself when you evaluate a work for the first time that instruct your approach to furthering development/giving notes on a project?

I ask the people why this story is important to them. Sometimes it's less about function, more a true north for the heart of the film

You grappled with this in your Onward piece, but should one prioritize honoring the reason why the story is important to them (in Onward’s case, the director telling his autobiographical experience through Ian) or to tell the “better” version (through Barley’s POV)?

Depends, but I think there's beautiful happy mediums.
