I really got to give it another shot. I read the book before seeing it and I had to admit, while it's a great adaptation, it doesn't lend itself well to being adapted.

that's where the repetition comes in, every time it lets your more and more into it.

oof, yes. The pacing is so fantastically weird, and it actually uses Minnie Ripperton´s Les Fleurs without seeming tacky. MOTO PENEKEKO

what am i missing? it's the only PTA i can't connect with. like the only only one.

its an immensely dense and inaccessible movie - almost an anti-movie in a way, but it's ALL there - it just takes a lot of repetition. Don't feel bad reading plot summaries (i had read the book too). Just find your ways in. What waits is amazing.

YES! Lowkey favourite PTA. Really sweet moral centre, creeping dark paranoia and as funny as anything in years. All time ensemble cast.

repetition the key for sure, the sprawling narrative lets you in more and more with each rewatch. stands with PTA's other masterworks
