Good twist ending = You watch the movie a second time and keep cursing yourself, saying "How did I NOT see this coming the first time?! Its so obvious!"

Ahh, like how Ebert used to describe a good murder mystery, somethibg about how "The clues are all there, and the reveal is like a magic trick".

But... "You're a Palpatine..."

"Of course they would have a reveal even dumber than the rest of the movie!"

I've told this story before, but right after Bruce Willis got shot in the Sixth Sense, I turned to my friend and said, sarcastically, "Now watch Bruce Willis turn out to be one of the dead people," as a joke, because I thought 'no way they'd do such an obvious twist'. Oops.

He turned and beat me jokingly with a water bottle about forty minutes in the movie.

I love it when the twist makes me see prior events in a new/different way.

‘Hiding in plain sight’. There is NO more satisfying ending than the unexpected ending that was HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT.
