I agree that would be the safer play. But it's kinda the same character flaw that makes him an over achiever.

We can't possibly know if he's over-promising at this point in time. Publicly funded space travel has been stagnant for 50 years.

That's such a misconception. Nasa's exploratory interests shifted radically in the Hubble era. Suddenly we had tools to explore deeply without actually having to go into deep space. At the same time, I get the "wonder" angle of Mars, but right now Nasa's underfunded budget

is largely focused on the matters upkeep with regards to the "space junk" problem and stopping the Kessler Effect. It's rigorous, incredible work that prevents daily apocalypse. And Space X is making it trickier.

SpaceX is a partner contractor of NASA. As such, it is inconceivable that SpaceX would act against NASA's interest.

It is literally their overall company goal to ultimately supersede NASA. They deal with this conflict and Lockheed Martin all the time. You have zero idea what you're talking about and are just making assumptions. I'm done. Blocking.
