I’m in good shape enough that I can get through. I just continue my long quarantine. Not interact with a soul. And yes, this could also just be another strain of flu not in the flu shot. OF COURSE. But it sucks feeling completely helpless and unsure with Schroedinger’s Covid.

I have enough food and things for next few days, but already I’m worried about straining friends - and the ransacking going on in supermarkets. I just tried to buy groceries online and it’s impossible. They’re out. But the real thing I’m thinking about…

Is right now, how many people across the country are in this same position where they’re sick w/ close symptoms and unsure? Is even talking about this online irresponsible and fear stoking? Is NOT mentioning that this is happening irresponsible?

Am I being paranoid or not paranoid enough? I dunno. I’m tired and my whole body hurts. Be safe out there <3

This is what they told me: They've been seeing *many* patients with symptoms concerning for COVID19 who need testing (1/x)Show this thread9 replies 26 retweets 315 likesShow this thread -
To those saying, "there's a chance this just the flu, too." Oh I absolutely know. I said as much. This is the base problem of confusion. Same goes for actually knowing if I had it or not for when this later blows up and I wonder if I can expose myself or not. Schrödinger's Covid

sad story: there are reports of people reinfecting. those who have had it aren’t necessarily immune.

That's also pretty unlikely, for a virus. I would take those stories with several grains of salt.

let me introduce you to a little virus I like to call “the common cold”
2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
The "common cold" isn't a little virus, it's a group of common low-risk symptoms that stems from a constantly evolving series of over 200 different viruses that are nearly impossible to vaccinate against because of that very evolution.

I am not an expert on this topic. I thought the same thing you do until I read someone who is an expert on this topic say that they do not know if people can be reinfected. I am aware that many different viruses cause the common cold.

As a general rule, you can only get a specific viral infection once; that is the point of having an immune system (and vaccines). If this particular virus is an exception, the reason is probably that it is mutating fairly quickly, which doesn't seem to be the case.
