Long detailed explanation! I've had bad experiences with various sleep drugs. Some people swear by them. But instead they just make me drowsy / my body tired, but my mind is still wired and fights back and it just makes me feel crappy and drugged / not sleepy. As for how I did it

Yup! The science isn't really locking anything down, but a lot of it has to with lights / screens, etc. When I need to distract my brain and fall asleep now I shut off all the lights and put on a low-energy podcast I like.

FUN FACT! If you ever feel like you're physically falling when you fall asleep and then jolt awake its b/c your mind feels your pulse falling rapidly and is like "I don't know if you're dying or falling asleep and I'm not willing to gamble" so it shoots you up with adrenaline.
