Nobuo Uematsu in some of his strongest solo years, as he and technology were racing neck-and-neck to push boundaries of VGM. (I think the advent of mp3 files on disc and his work on 8 is actually his peak, but 6 and 7 are iconic)

Nobuo Uematsu is a real genius composer. Made incredibly memorable and thematic music with a limited pallet of sounds

I have no nostalgia for the game at all, but its music is something special. The use of synths is just... I'm kinda disappointed that the remake'll be dropping some of it in favor of modern orchestrals.

I reminisce about replaying it everything I think about the music. It’s like preemptive, self-inflicted, nostalgia.
