I literally wrote this this morning: "1. Parasite For a long time now, Bong Joon-ho has probably been my favorite filmmaker. On one hand, he is one of the most precise directors working today, showcasing a command of cinematic language only a few others seem to possess.

I can say these things and they conjure moments and laughs and scares and scenes so evocative as to be burned into our memories. I think it’s often dumb to talk about “perfect” movies, but the film’s runaway success is a testament to the way this story just plays, damnit.
