I think we're talking about the same things when it comes to the games vague and wishy washy motives in ethics, - the metaphor for therapy is essentially what they are on paper, or maybe what they should be given the metaphor. The execution, very not therapy.

Also, I would argue they were infinitely more broken beforehand. They can just now see their brokenness. Which is usually what happens.
