Minor critique: The movie doesn't conclusively establish that Zach Galofinakis's character in The Hangover is a pedophile He could be wrongfully accused, it could be some other crime. A mentally ill homeless guy near my school went to jail for peeing in some bushes
-
It's definitely meant to hint that he's a possible pedophile, but it's vague enough that it's also open to other interpretations, which I think is the point. We know he's weird and sketchy, we just don't know exactly how and why, and to what degree

We have films all the time which make the police and the army as straight up heroes without any awareness or irony but instead of addressing that we need to hand-wring any time there is movie with an anti-hero protagonist. Which do you think is the more dangerous?
-
That is some serious whataboutism. I write about the problems of heroic depictions all the time - and I make a clear case of why this anti-hero-ism isn't even that. What you're saying is equally crappy framing.
