I very much dislike having Exploding Head Syndrome, which is a real thing! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploding_head_syndrome …

That sounds really stressful. My sympathies. :( Something similar happens to me very occasionally. I didn't know it was a named condition. Just thought I was having loud dreams. But yeah, suddenly being bolt awake and full of adrenaline when you just want to sleep isn't fun.

This (or something very very similar) happend to me for a few months when I had anxiety. (Luckily medication worked super nicely for me and it stopped almost immediately when I took my first pill (xanax); it worked like a model case) It fucking sucks, yes..

Holy sht. I have all of these symptoms except for the auditory one, which seems to be the main symptom so that's confusing. I have been seeing flashes, the feeling I need to make effort to keep breathing etc. I'm... confused.

I had no idea this was a thing. I spent years after my brother rolled his new jeep into a river during a blizzard (the jerk is fine, btw) hearing a phone ringing in the middle of the night *every time* I started to fall asleep. I'd wake up convinced he was in trouble
