There's lots of variations. Mine is right when I'm about to FINALLY fall sleep, my body thinks I'm in the woods and will get eaten by wolves or some shit so it wakes me up and makes me very, very alert for imminent danger. Even though I'm just in bed. It fucking sucks!

Most people experience it, but it's fairly normalized once and while stuff. It's basically hard wiring from hunter gatherer days. For people who suffer from it, it's literally nightly occurance. Some weeks its endless. Tonight I've tried to go to bed 4 times.

wow! i had something like this, but only once as a teenager in the 80s. heard a prolonged beep sound that absolutely terrified me and left me unable to move. I've always assumed i either had a nightmare or was half awake and heard a sound out in the street.
