So you think someone who thinks enjoying others misfortune isn’t a good and relishes the opportunity to make new friends is a totally terrible person who should be treated with contempt and hatred?

I think this is exact thinking is how you think you are just being nice when you really you are defending an asshole pseudo-nazi and ostracizing a gay woman for also not defending that asshole. And it's all under the banner of "kindness," which is the problem.

“pseudo-nazi”, the character literally never defended any of those, merely expressing dislike for her enjoyment of another person’s misfortune, and was eager to be friends with her despite her obvious left politics, how can you read the character as a nazi.

She's talking about PDP. And the people who defend PDP.

The character didn’t. No one who is drawing the character did either. He expressed an admittedly naive sentiment about how robbery is bad and taking joy in other’s misfortune is wrong. That’s being naive, not saying nazis are good. That’s why people are mocking it.

The artist, and yourself, seem to think incredibly common statements about how “two wrongs don’t make a right” are marking someone as a nazi rather than someone who is a bit innocent, ie the way most normal people would read it. You mark yourself as a bitter hateful sociopath

Do you understand this? Do you get this? You are so far up your own ass that statements like “maybe no one deserves to be robbed” can be interpreted as defending nazism. That’s why this became a thing. Your viewpoint is absurdly toxic, hateful, and bitter. Be less awful.

Your anger directed at both her and I tells the whole story. Good bye.

... because you aren’t helping. Treating everyone around you like shit over the smallest most innocuous statements helps no one, not even yourselves, and I desperately wish you could see that.

You also didn’t address a goddamn thing I said, but I can’t say I expected you to. Goodbye then, and best of luck to you.

I haven't gotten angry once. I'm just tired of this dynamic happening again and again on the internet. Everything you are saying is "right" and "moral" but it's also narrow and ignoring the larger dynamic of how that exact attitude is used to defend horrible ppl and bully women.

And it was this exact attitude that was used as the emotional fuel for g*merg*te and that's why it scares the crap out of me. Look beyond the narrow, see the larger picture, understand WHY you're getting so angry at both me and her. This is bigger than being "nice."

I think that comparison is extremely unwarranted, particularly as the overall focus currently is not on attacking anyone, even the artist in question, by retooling a character in the comic into a positive symbol. That’s... nothing like what happened before.
