Would love to make a show for a network that doesn't do this. If you work at one, let's talk.https://twitter.com/StevieVanZandt/status/1209062843091427330 …

As Maureen points out, the credits to a film or tv show should not be sped up, shrunken, or skipped. It is totally disrespectful to the Guest Actors, the Extras, the Crew, and the Music Credits! The Union contracts shouldn’t allow it. #LetCreditsRoll

I assume you likely considered this already, but what about front-loading the credits in their entirety (in creative ways, of course) over the first stretch of the show/movie from now on as something that maybe evolves into an industry-wide practice?

      That defeats two purposes.

it would 1) distract from the dramatization of what you are trying to do in the opening and 2) the whole point of end credits is to give space to let the viewer digest what they've just seen, maybe be thankful / interested in who made what they just consumed.

I completely agree on the second point, but sadly don't see the current trend as a wave that can be stopped unless it's renegotiated through unions. I disagree with the first point, because there are examples that prove otherwise, such as the opening to Noe's CLIMAX.

Of course there are a few examples, but that's something in control of the filmmakers and their own choices. Literally ALL movies used to have the credits at the beginning and we moved away from this because putting them at the end makes so much more sense / has stronger effect.
