Ive been thinking about this a lot and Ive come to the striking realization JJ Abrams might not actually understand what a story is. Its more a bot copying story algorithms.

Im pretty sure that film is 90 percent people running across the frame shouting plot details. Why? Because stopping means you would need to actually getting into conflicts in relationships and story.

He's not though. He's good at grabbing your attention / making you curious. That's not the same thing as starting stories. Knowing how to start and sustain an ending is everything. It's the old billy wilder advice that a problem with your 3rd act is really a problem with your 1st
