Not trying to be overly argumentative. But imo, it’s like looking at Starry Night and wondering why Van Gogh didn’t make it more photo-realistic. You should meet whatever you’re absorbing in the middle rather and wishing it was something it wasn’t trying to be.

No. It's not like that at all. It's reflecting one how much high-minded art is exclusionary to literally over half the population of the world, how that keeps getting defined in masterpiece-dom, and a million other things. Now would be a good time to stop talking and listen.
