It still bothers me that they’re staying so true to the comics but Hooded Justice’s collar is wrong if this takes place right before he finds Blake and Sally. I know it’s a small thing, but it and the cigarettes last episode bothered me (nobody in Watchmen smokes cigarettes).

These things should not bother you. Its okay that they have. But just breathe, concentrate on whats important, and grow past.

Actually, yeah. This episode made me think: cool, and i can't deny it had powerful themes. But it didn't devestate me like an episode of Lost or Leftovers did.

I found this showiness distracting but almost necessary. For what the story was trying to tell, I wonder if less “one-shot” camera work and more hard cuts/jumping around from memory to memory wouldn’t have felt cheap. That is to say—they’re just jumping to the “important stuff.”

I have to wonder what we were supposed to feel. HJ’s anger? Angela’s connection? How racist America is and always has been? Perhaps more disorienting cinematography (more jumpy, less floaty) would’ve made it more visceral. As is, the ep is an origin story w/flair—production wise.
