Note, swiping left and hitting edit doesn't work. They are purposefully trying to cram this feature into use. Why? I don't know. If I'm being cynical it's because tech designers apparently want phones to be their mommies.

Even the basic idiocy of having your morning alarms be regarded as "other alarms" tells you everything you need to know about the people who make these choices and design this shit. God I have switch away from Apple. They're making every disastrous design choice now.

To be clear, the bedtime alarms are off. What I don't want is a giant glaring stupid thing that takes up half my screen telling me I SHOULD HAVE BED TIME ALARMS on, especially when I need to be constantly using the other ones.

Steve Jobs was an absurd maniac, but he was also obsessive about this kind of thing. Tacky and obtrusive design was the bane of his existence. And Apple's success was partially built on it. But with every passing year...

Apple has gotten further and further away from that core ethos. It started slight, but every time I look there is some glaring, insane, obviously horrid design choice that you just tell no one ever raised questions about it, and if they did, they were railroaded by the wrong ppl.

It's the reason going from your text to you camera roll used to be one click and is NOW FIVE. Again, they think they are giving your more options, what they are giving you is more hoops.

I'm seriously thinking about going this route next time... https://twitter.com/BllocPhone

Okay, last thing. Whenever I talk about tech design and threads, I'm met with kind people who genuinely mean to help (mostly). The thing is that usually the points being talked about need another layer of understanding and negotiation.

"What do you mean? you just do this!" "No, I did that, I was really talking about this." "Then why didn't you say that?" "It's exactly what I said, you just assumed I was generalizing or meant x" And this goes around like an endless carousel.

I have no real solution for it, nor silver lining. Just that this constant dance is beyond exhausting and I love you all and wish you well and the happiness of clarity in design <3
