JAPAN: yes, there's fillet o shrimps, peach sodas, more eggs on things, and the famous tsukimi pies, but the thing that's fascinating is how much the menu shifts from breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

yeah, it's sort of just "beef flavored material product" - but it's funny i have no real McD's nostalgia. I rarely ate fast food as a kid, but still ate crap. My hometown was just very bostonish with mostly pizza and subshops
It's also interesting for me to think of it as a place that can be chicken / veggie focused, as it is so damn beef centric in my mind.
