Won’t Marty be pissed? Wasn’t his Netflix deal contingent on theatrical?

This has all the makings of being a Heaven's Gate-level disaster.

It's easy to see that Netflix did this all wrong. My preference is to get films at independent theater, ones that don't tend to be go-to places for general audiences. At least that would have some positive spin.

On the bright side A) Scorsese got to make the most financially irresponsible film of his career (3.5 hour movie starring 75+ year old men & spend millions on CG de-aging FX) B) If Marty didn't get it, no other filmmakers will buy Netflix's "We promise a real theatrical run" BS

So, I've had a hard time following this whole kerfuffle. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

Ah, well. I guess I'll be seeing this a year or so from now when it is released to other streaming services.

Umm, what? It’s a Netflix original production. It won’t be on other streaming services.
