Can Twitter Dudes(TM) tell me why guys punch* walls/stop signs/bags when they are mad? Is that preferable to having feelings? *fear not, no one has punched a wall near me in years. I was just reminded of a college dude who did that a lot.

This makes me very sad for dudes (and also reminds me I need to do better in raising my little dude). But also we, the ladies, do not enjoy witnessing this. What is right now a wall could just as easily be my face, I always felt.

That's understandable, and you definitely want men to be able to express a full range of healthy emotions (and manage anger), but I also have to admit that punching an inanimate object can be very therapeutic. Like, it can feel good and calming.

Reductive BS. You're projecting malice into something that has none, at least in my experience. I've never struck a wall or object with intent to intimidate or while thinking of a person. 1/2

It isn't about them, it is about me and purging myself of a swirling maelstrom of pent up chaos I was never taught how to deal with. And if that scares another person, sorry, but check your damn ego; not everything is about you.
