Richard Newby Retweeted Bad Film Takes

There’s nothing wrong with that list. Labeling this a Bad Film Tweet is actually a Bad Film Tweet.https://twitter.com/BadFilmTakes/status/1155529579177680897 …

But almost all those directors are warner bros affiliated. It's fair to note the curious overlap and not hard to guess the motivations as to why the tweeter would gravitate toward them?

But that doesn’t make it “bad.” It’s his list based on the movies he likes. He’s motivated by what he enjoys, which I think we all are. If he listed primarily A24 affiliated directors would that be an equally “bad film tweet”?

I mean, that's the weirdest criticism at someone's list I've seen. "Let's not look at the actual quality of those guys' work but what studio they are working at (currently, not even traditionally)".

I believe he's suggesting the person who made the list is a Snyder Cut dude. No idea if that's true. Most of the people on the list I agree with.

No, I get it. I just don't understand why would someone's first thought about a person's list is that he chose it out of brand loyalty when there are clearly amazing directors in there (which actually makes me realize WB works with really talented people).

(addressed this in the other thread, I just instantly noticed the DC movie overlaps, I wasn't trying to arguing it was inherently bad, just inherently interesting. And yes WB often does work with talented people. Be well).

Fair enough, just saw it right now. Will just point out though that the people who would normally have brand loyalty are turning their backs on WB after the whole JL debacle. Be well too.
