The Last Black Man in San Francisco is incredible. Note perfect story + theming, and it's first time in ages I've been taken with a new style from a director (the way it plays with verticality and z-axis and spacing). Best film I've seen this year.

I still keep thinking about it, chiefly how it really seems to cut through a lot of the B.S. and problems of respectability politics and frame it in more interesting conversations of empathy, toxic masculinity, and generational trauma. Just beautiful.
