Because twitter is built on a better mechanism of sharing. Those shares directly relate to a growth that helps directly in the space of my choosing. If I wanted it to be an essay, it would be an essay. If I write a thread, it's because I want a shared thread.

Posting to thread reader not only directly stops all of that, it is direct theft in a way that I have not given permission to. If I write something on twitter, I am giving that permission for them to advertise. Not for other sites.
