I’m trying to think if parks and rec ever actually acknowledged the “camera” they’re talking to after the first episode

They do, but they never say who is filming or what it's for.

My Little Pony actually did a pretty fun take on it too XP

I think Modern Family was way, way worse about that.

One of those things where The Office was the show which gave others the green light to do the same maybe?

I would like to nominate Parks and Rec to run against The Office for this award

I remember in the episode where Scott leaves and he takes off his mic and you can't hear him anymore, all I could think was "So... did they stop every single person who stopped by and ask to mic them?"

They strayed so far from it that I was totally shocked when the Boom Mic Guy showed up on-screen.

that's something that bugged me about District 9, the guerilla "security cam" conceit was dropped about halfway through and became a very tradtionally shot film. (Either way, get on Chappie's level)

Im ok with that only because I feel like there's at least kind of a distinction between which sections of the movie are documentary and which aren't
