I don’t know how you cook but to me deveining is apart of the cleaning process which is always before anything gets cooked

Yeah, I'm with @Phoenix_624 on this one. I was always taught that deveining the shrimp was a basic part of prepping it for cooking. I guess you could do that while still leaving the shells on if you really think it's worth the hassle...

I was first taught the same thing, too. We are taught the wrong stuff a lot though and results of these changes are incredible and keep so much moisture in the shrimp
